Bhangarh Fort is situated on a hillside in the deserted town of Bhangarh, Rajasthan. Bhangarh is a ruined town between Jaipur and Alwar in Rajasthan and is located at the edge of Sariska Tiger Reserve. Bhangarh fort is a major tourist attraction and is said to be one of the most haunted sites in the world. Many legends are associated with the haunted folk. It was established in 1613 by King Madho Singh. It might be renowned for its haunted and spooky presence but it can be visited as the place is beautiful and tranquil.

Many versions of the myth are known in order to unravel the mystery of the haunted fort. One such myth is that the city of Bhangarh was built by King Madho Singh after getting an approval from ascetic, Guru Balu Nath, who meditated there. Guru Balu Nath sanctioned the establishment of the town but said : The moment the shadow of your palace touches me you are undone. The city shall be no more! But one of the ambitious descendant raised the palace to such a height that it cast a shadow on Balu Nath's forbidden retreat and his prophecy became true as predicted and the whole town was devastated. The samadhi where Guru Balu Nath is said to lie is still there. Local villagers say that whenever a house is built there its roof collapses. People also say that nobody returned who stayed there after dark.

Another myth is the legend of the Princess of Bhangarh, Ratnavati. She was said to be very beautiful and by the age of 18 she started getting matrimonial offers from nobilties of other states. Now, in the same area lived a tantrik (a magician well versed in the occult), called Singhia who was completely smitten by her but knew that the match was impossible. One day Singhia saw the princess's maid in the market. So he thought of tricking the princess by using black magic on the oil that the maid was purchasing so that upon touching it, the princess would surrender herself to him. The princess had however seen the tantrik enchanting the oil, foiled his plan by pouring it on the ground. As the oil struck the ground it turned into a boulder, which crushed Singhia. Before dying, Singhia cursed the palace with the death of all who dwelt in it, without any rebirth in their destinies. The very next year, a battle took place between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh in which Princess Ratnavati perished.

According to the legends, there are ghosts dwelling in Bhangarh fort and that is why entry is prohibited for tourists in the fort after sunset and before sunrise. The locals believe that Princess Ratnavati has taken birth somewhere else and that the fort and the empire of Bhangarh is waiting for her return and put an end to the curse. Few years ago, the crew members of production team of a haunted T.V. Serial which is televised on national television visited the place of Bhangarh after searching for an ideal location for shooting the haunted story. Even they witnessed some paranormal activities happening there.

The specialty of the shirt is that it is made with over 3kg gold, priced at $250000 or 12700000 INR. In his case, it is being obsessed with the most precious metal.

Datta Phuge is nicknamed the ‘gold man’ because his wrists, neck and knuckles are borne down with heavy bracelets, signet rings and a medallion which might be envied upon by someone like an Olympic champ.

With all these he has accessorized his shirt of gold that is draped resplendently all over him and glittering in the light.

The shirt weighs a staggering 3.3 kg, costing a decent quarter of a million dollars. To put it in mildest manner possible, it is a plush fashion statement, but nevertheless, for Phuge, it is a vital one.

Wearing this much gold was his dream, just as people have different aspirations and wants to own a Mercedes or Audi.

However, this man has 5 cars. He wears the shirt on special occasions like important functions and parties. Of course, the shirt elicits mixed reactions: while some are impressed, others look upon it like a snazzy display of wealth. It took 15 days and 16 people to prepare the shirt.

Phuge has employed a security guard to make sure the shirt stays on his back wherever he goes.

For the tailors, the challenge was to make the shirt as comfortable as wearing a normal one.

So, they came up with a gold cloth sewn in Italian weave. For this, they used a special machine. Their inspiration was the ancient Indian kings who wore suits of armor. A velvet lining was put inside to prevent scratching.

The completed shirt heavy and it clinks. It cannot be washed – so you need to protect against sweat and dirt, which is inevitable in the Indian tropical climate.

According to the owner, wearing the shirt gives him a feel-good factor, as it is the ultimate hallmark of success, giving him the status he has always craved for since childhood.

Since his college days, he heard people class you as being rich if you wore gold. He started wearing gold since Phuge was in college.

Actually, he hailed from a humble background. He started as a property speculator and became a moneylender in Pimpri, based outside Pune.

His next target is a mobile that is made totally of gold, and this will be followed by gold shoes. Certain reports mention that Phuge wants to impress women with his shirt, but the man is happily married to Seema, a government sector employee, who shares his penchant. She owns 500 kg of gold including gold bags and necklaces. Phuge knows that he can sell his shirt, if he goes bankrupt someday.Every 6-8 months when there is a profit margin in his company, he purchases gold.

Gold in India is a symbol of power and prestige. People purchase the precious metal to be looked upon as flamboyant. Meanwhile, the jewelers are getting further orders in gold belts and handbags with more Indians purchasing gold bars.
